Explore the area’s rich biodiversity while learning how reforestation and ecotourism efforts have significantly helped replenish the land. As you’re immersed in the local culture, you’ll work together with non-profits and community members to build sustainable solutions to the conservation, economic and social challenges they face. Day 1: Fly to the Dominican Republic

Meet your Tour Director at the airport

Day 2: Santo Domingo

Take a guided tour of the Colonial Zone, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then, enjoy a scenic ride through the central mountain range to your service project location, where you will:

Learn about your specific service work during your project orientation
Take a tour of the local community you’ll be serving

Day 3: Service project • Central mountain region

Strong partnerships are the foundation of EF Service Learning tours. We work closely with area nonprofits and community members to ensure that your contributions are sustainable, timely, and relevant.

Since projects are determined closer to your actual tour date, here’s a glimpse at what your first day might look like:

· Plant and pot trees at a tree nursery

· Build planting and watering zones for the terrace system where trees are planted

Enjoy a waterfall hike or river walk

Day 4: Service project • Central mountain region

Day 7: National Marine Park • North coast region

Take a guided tour of a national marine park

Enjoy swimming and snorkeling around the coral reefs

Day 8: Depart for home
